BDM 125 Script Outline V2

1. EXT, RIVERSIDE - DAWN

Daelin is reading a book to his son Haron, they both have dark black hair. the book is about the sun and the moon meeting and turning the land dark. Haron asks if the sun and moon will meet again. Daelin says they are bound to.

2. EXT, OUTSIDE AN INN - NIGHT

Daelin has murdered a man.

Haron wants to know why he deserved to die.

Daelin argues that all powerful men deserve to die, as he takes the man's money and clothes.

3. EXT, COUNTRY ROAD - DAY

We see a man is tied to a tree stump, Daelin is pressuring ten yr old Haron to kill the man, he refuses and tries to run.

After a small tussle Haron has been badly burnt on his arms but manages to escape.

4. EXT, FOREST - NIGHT

There is a big blue explosion. We hear shouts and dogs barking.

An old man is running and is visibly hurt. His clothes are torn and burnt.

We see he is making vivid footprints in the mud.

We see him walk out into a moon lit clearing where he collapses under a tree and blacks out. The shouts and barking have stopped.

The old man wakes to find that he has been poisoned and there is a spreading blue wound on his side. His skin is peeling in the area.

He has no water or food, and can not even stand, he is going to die.

5. EXT, FOREST - DAY

A man in a dark cloak is examining the aftermath of an explosion, there is a blue liquid splattered everywhere. He quickly ascends a nearby tree. Skipping from one branch to the next.

We see the man nestled in the tree, he is looking over a string of footprints in the mud on the forest floor.

He suddenly drops and runs following the footprints

6. EXT, FOREST CLEARING - DAY

The old man hasn’t moved, it begins to rain. He slumps and lets the rain cleanse him

7. EXT, FOREST CLEARING - DAY

The Man in the black cloak has come to the end of the trail; a clearing where he sees a old man and hides.

He pulls out a roll of paper and observes a drawing of a face.

The drawing is labeled as (Wanted! $10,000 reward!)

He compares the drawing to the man in the clearing again and again

He draws his knife, we see a scar rippling up his arm. He hesitates.

8. EXT, COUNTRY ROAD - DAY, FLASHBACK

Haron is standing over a man tied to a tree trunk. His father is telling him to kill the man. Haron calls his father a murderer and shouts that he never wants to be like him. He is crying as he runs away.

END FLASHBACK

9. EXT, SPACE

we see the moon orbiting the planet and the sun shining bright in the background.

we see that the moon is about to cross into the path of the sun.

A shadow is developing on the planet

10. EXT, FOREST CLEARING - DAY

Haron runs out of hiding towards the old man, who lifts his head at the noise.

The elder is stunned at the sight of Haron, he rolls out of the way of a sword swing.

He shouts for haron to stop as he gets to his feet.

He manages to disarm Haron and kick him down, he draws a knife.

Harons hood has fallen revealing his black hair. He charges the old man who flicks the knife around in his hand, the point is facing his own heart.

Haron impacts him, he gasps and is still.

Haron steps back abruptly. we see the knife is plunged in to the elders chest, he slumps then falls forward and crumbles to the soil.

Haron breathes deeply, he goes pale. He sees the old mans bag and looks though it.

He finds a book, it is the book his father used to read to him as a child. Haron pulls back the hood of the old man revealing his black hair.

We see land grow darker. A solar eclipse is unfolding.

We see the soil go black with blood around Daelin’s body, it fills the screen.

BDM 125 Treatment

Bounty

Log line: An exiled knight/outlaw is attacked by a bounty hunter, who incidentally is his long lost son.

Daelin is watching a small group of soldiers make their way down the road while     seemingly reciting the words to a story

Act I

Inciting Incident:

Daelin attacks the soldiers, but is poisoned by a mage

Plot Point 1:

Haron, Daelin’s long lost son appears

Act2

First Half:

Daelin doesn’t believe haron even exists, and is sure its just the poison.

Midpoint:

Haron lays a hand on Daelins shoulder, Daelin then knows he is real

Plot Point 2:

Haron announces he is there to kill Daelin for the bounty on his head

Conflict:

They start to shove each other around Daelin refuses to draw his weapon on his son.

Daelin is injured and the poison is spreading through his body, Haron is approaching with his knife drawn about to kill Daelin, he charges.

Act3

Crisis:  

Daelin manages to unsheath his own knife and raise it between them as they impact each other.

Falling action:

Haron pulls back to realize that Daelin was holding the knife towards himself and Haron has pushed it in. Haron is looking through Daelin’s belongings and discovers Daelin has the book his long lost father used to read to him when he was young, and then realizes he has just assassinated his dad.

Bio

Ulysses is the unfortunate adopted son of two very intelligent, hard working, wealthy parents who want him to move out and get a job. His mother, Janine, is an astrophysicist and his father, Tim, is a practicing accountant. He strives to be as clever as his foster parents but struggles with a lack common sense. Ulysses is 18 years old and has a girlfriend, Darlene, who is all over him. Though e is unfit, childish and has never spoke a word in his life.

He has little prospects and spends his days building useless scientific gadgets out of scrap material from the local science institute where his mother works. He likes to field test hid contraptions with his pet mouse. Ulysses grew up on a farm but got lost as a child while chasing a mouse. Which he eventually got to know and embraced as his own. He and his mouse named Hair traveled far from the farm until they reached a highway they could not cross. Eventually they were picked up by his now foster parents. In all his time Ulysses manages to make one working gadget, a teleporter which he doesn't hesitate to jump in. Soon finding himself on a martian planet with nothing but the clothes on his back and his pet mouse Hair. He survives with what he learnt when he was lost with his mouse as a kid, and there a new challenges to overcome everyday.
